During the 2018 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, Volunteer Committee Chair Bonnie Kibbie presented to the group assembled at the Volunteer Open Forum. She began by providing a report on the health of the Volunteer Incentive Program, including several statistics about usage by both events and volunteers. In 2018, 123 events (nearly 50 percent) were using the Eventing Volunteers app, up from 72 events in 2017.
Next, she provided an update on the progress on the jump judge instructional videos that had been in the works for the past year. A six-part video series has been produced that covers everything a jump judge needs to know to do their job. She also covered the progress on the proposal for additional videos.
Looking to the future, Kibbie shared information about work being done on resources for organizers and volunteer coordinators, including a guidebook with information on best practices.
