It’s a cold, wet, and windy day at the New Jersey Horse Park in Allentown, New Jersey for the final day of the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event. The final horse inspection took place this morning and a total of 26 horses between the CCI3*-L and CCI4*-L came forward to present to the ground jury.
The 14 remaining pairs in the CCI3*-L were all accepted by the ground jury of Robert Stevenson (USA), Valerie Vizcarrando-Pride (USA), and Janice Conlon (USA). In the CCI4*-L, all 12 pairs that presented to the ground jury of Sue Baxter (GBR), Jo Young (CAN), and Wayne Quarles (USA) passed on first inspection.
Doug Payne and Quantum Leap, who sat in third place overnight in the CCI4*-L, elected to withdraw this morning before the final horse inspection. Payne announced on his Instagram that Quantum Leap has a heel grab that will keep him from completing the rest of the competition.
Show jumping will commence this morning at 9:30 a.m. with the CCI3*-L followed by the CCI4*-L at 11:00 a.m.
