The USEA’s Area II is currently accepting applications for the Young Rider Team Coach for 2013. The current team coaches are stepping down after the 2012 season, and Area II would like to open the search up to anyone who is qualified and interested.
USEA Area Young Riders Coaches must be ICP Certified Level III, however, if an applicant is not certified Area II may consider supporting them in seeking their certification. Qualifications for the position include: substantial coaching experience, excellent interpersonal skills (must be able to communicate with parents and young riders alike during some trying times), and currently competing at the Advanced level. Of course not every candidate may meet all of these conditions and the credentials of each candidate will be weighed.
Area II will also consider arrangement where a coach would work with other coaches in a sharing arrangement, but with the understanding that the annual coaching fee and costs are set at a fixed level that would be shared accordingly
Interested candidates should contact Area II Chair, Steve Symansky at ssymansky@gmail.com to discuss the details further. To formalize your application please draft a one page note on why you want to be the coach and why you feel that you are qualified. In addition you can include any information, thoughts or ideas that you feel are pertinent. The decision will be made with input of the Area II Council.
*UPDATE* In response to the announcement about the Area 2 YR coaching position, a number of excellent candidates have expressed an interest. When we posted the announcement I failed to provide a deadline. If anyone else is interested I need to hear from you before the end of the month. After that the area will follow up with each candidate with a request for some more detailed information and then interviews. Again I appreciate the interest that many of you have expressed.
