Area V and the North Texas Eventing Association (NTEA) held their Annual Meeting and 2012 Year-End Awards Banquet on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Fort Worth Sheraton and Spa. Over 250 attended the joint year-end awards dinner banquet complete with live auction, silent auction, and dancing late into the night to Empty Pockets, Top 40 country and classic rock band. Live auction items included: custom 20 x 24 mixed media portrait by Julie Lawther, four center court tickets to a Dallas Mavericks game with VIP parking, an absolutely gorgeous black lab puppy, and a guided wild hog hunt. Over 100 items were donated for the silent auction including Area V event entries, clinic entries, stabling, cross-country schooling, lessons, barn baskets, jewelry, and so much more. Thank you for all the donations to support Area V and NTEA activities.

Bill Dickson Memorial Award: Emma Kate Fisher

Carsten Meyer, presented with the Area V Adult Rider 2012 LL Betsey Cash Award for significant contribution to eventing in Area V, is the course designer for Texas Rose Horse Park in Tyler, Texas, which is building the first Advanced course in Area V and will host the 2013 Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships. Carsten is also active with several Area V venues including Holly Hill Farm, Pine Hill, Jubilee, and MeadowCreek Park. Carsten and his wife Kim own Hilltop Stables LLC in Plain Dealing, Louisiana.
Gary Snyder, presented with the 2012 Area V Chair Award for boundless volunteer service in Area V, is a non-competitor at the Area V events with his wife Colleen and is always willing to help be it dressage scribe, finish line timer, jump judge, and start box. Gary and Colleen own BCXR Horse Center in Troup, Texas.
