Bromont Horse Trials Inc., organizers of the Bromont CCI-S Three-Day Event held August 13 to 16 are delighted to announce Bromont’s selection as a leg of FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ 2020 Series.
Sabrina Ibáñez, Secretary General of the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) confirmed November 16 the allocation to Bromont during the FEI board meeting held in Moscow, Russia.
The only North American leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ 2020 Series, Bromont is just one of nine Eventing Nations Cup (CCIO4*-NC) events listed on the FEI calendar including the finale at Boekelo, The Netherlands.
Lead by Sue Ockendon, Bromont Horse Trials Inc. organizes this popular national and FEI level competition held each year in August as well as the MARS Equestrian Bromont CCI Three-Day Event and Little Bromont happening in June.
When asked about this exciting announcement, Ockendon said, “This is really important for the Americas to have this opportunity, there are so few chances to qualify and to gain the experience for the Olympic and other major games. Teams are already talking about coming in June for the MARS Equestrian Bromont CCI Three-Day Event to ready themselves for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ in August.”
Held the third weekend of August in the charming village of Bromont, Quebec, the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ Bromont along with the Bromont CCI-S Three-Day Event is within easy driving distance of Montreal, Quebec, and Burlington, Vermont. This scenic area offers great dining, shopping, entertainment, and golf options. The Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park, which hosted the equestrian events of the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, has in recent years undergone massive upgrades and is considered one of the best in North America.
Three decades of eventing have made Bromont a destination for riders, owners, and families. A place where everyone can enjoy a friendly weekend of competition and the charming rural eastern townships of Quebec.
For those riders who have yet to experience competition at Bromont, you’re in for a treat. Derek Di Grazia of Carmel Valley, California, FEI cross-country course designer at Bromont since 2009, will set a challenging track with the help of Canadian course builder Jay Hambly and his team, utilizing the spectacular hills and natural water features Bromont has to offer. Sue Ockendon, the event organizer, spares nothing to bring in the best officiating from around the world to provide each and every rider a true evaluation of their abilities.
In recent years the Bromont CCI has been a favorite location for both Canadian and US final team selection trials and developing athlete activities such as the USEF/USET Foundation North American Futures Team Challenge and the MARS Bromont Rising Program.
