Tristen Hooks, Sierra Mathias, and Anna Medina made their 600+ mile journeys from California to Philomath, Oregon for the SmartPak Equine/USEA Training Three-Day Event at Inavale Horse Trials count as the trio earned the top three placings in the event. Tristen Hooks, DVM riding her own Holsteiner/Dutch Warmblood gelding, Learning To Fly, travelled 15 hours from San Luis Obispo, CA to earn the blue ribbon in her third Training Three-Day competition. Tristen and “Fly” added only a few time penalties on Phase D to their first placed dressage score to win the T3D. Sierra Mathias and Regal Exit moved up from a tie for fourth with 4.4 time penalties and a double clear show jumping. Anna Medina and Nanook started the weekend in seventh, but finished comfortably in third. Inavale was the fourth Training Three-Day in the SmartPak Equine/USEA Classic Series.
