Save the Date, June 24-26, 2011: In an effort to provide Midwest riders with qualifying competition options within the Midwest region, the Fox River Valley Pony Club Horse Trials Advisory Board has applied for and received USEA approval for a new CIC One Star division, beginning in 2011. This development is in keeping with the FRVPCHT mission of providing the best possible competitive experience for horses, riders and trainers.

The 2010 autumn and fall preparations for the 2011 event included the clearing of some new tracks, management of existing turf, and a restorative schedule for some of the older jumps. New jumps are in the works at all levels, as are improvements to many of the systems that have been in place for decades on the property. The venue has been recently altered by the additions of a fence boundary that separates the Park District from the Forest Preserve and some new graveled parking areas, resulting in some new challenges related to stabling and parking. However, all systems are “go” and the organizers are in full swing to make the 2011 event the best ever.

Platinum Sponsor Barrington Saddlery is pleased to announce the addition of a “Trainer Shuttle” to and from the cross-country area, and event management is additionally working on some innovative conveniences to try and maximize the trainer and student experience at this event.

Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are still available for the 2011 event. This is the longest running equestrian event in the Barrington Hills community, and brings together horses, riders, friends and neighbors for an exciting weekend full of competition and camaraderie. Proceeds from the event contribute to the continued management of the jumps and trails in the Forest Preserve as well as educational opportunities for the members of the Fox River Valley Pony Club.
