Cobblestone Farms Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Build a Modified Course at NEW Event Property Revel Run

By Margaret McKelvy - Cobblestone Farms | Apr 28, 2021

Fifteen-year veterans of running USEA and USEF events, Jim and Darlyn Daratony of Cobblestone Farms are expanding their horse shows to a new property for 2021, a recently acquired 150 acre (former) golf course they have named Revel Run.

As leaders in the community, they have had numerous requests to add a Modified level cross-country course, to fill a need in the area. Faced with existing costs of renovating the golf course and moving from their old, smaller property, a crowdfunding effort has been launched to cover the investment of adding a true Modified level course to the plan.

“The Modified level is widely being accepted as an important stepping-stone between Training and Preliminary levels, as well as being a legitimate stand-alone goal for those who, for a range of reasons, don’t want to compete at the uppermost levels,” relates owner Jim Daratony.

“Simply put, the Modified level helps promote the safe development of horses and riders. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to expand the relevance of our sport and appeal to a broader range of competitors.”

Their goal is to raise $45,000 which will go directly to design and construction of the new course, in order to have it up and running for their USEA recognized event over the fourth of July weekend. There are ‘set’ levels of contributions for the main water complex and individual cross-country obstacles (perfect for a group effort) which come with perks such as naming rights, permanent plaques, social media and website recognition, and cross-country schooling vouchers. Open contributions at any level are welcome and appreciated.
