Nicolas Hinze, who developed the CourseWalk App and the new Area II Volunteer Incentive Program website has just created a new app to display eventing results. This app was developed in response to a request by David O'Connor, who wanted to have U.S. scores presented in similar way as in Europe. Some of the new features that mirror the European scoring system include: displaying country flags, allowing user sorting and greater details on dressage scores.
The software developed by Hinze simply takes results from a scoring software and reprocesses it in order to provide all of these features. The program/app has been developed so that it could use the information from any existing scoring software. This was used very successfully at Middleburg H.T the weekend if June 11 and at the Seneca Valley Pony Club H.T. on June 17. It will also be used for the upcoming Nations Cup CICO3* at Great Meadow, including for teams.
The features of the scoring system include:
1. Click on any column and it will sort by that column (e.g. place after dressage, after show jumping, alphabetically by name).
2. Click on a dressage score and it will show all dressage test movements and the scores assigned by each judge.
Clicking a dressage score will give you a breakdown of the scores for each movement of the test.
3. Click on XC jump penalty and it will show the jumps where the rider had any problems.
Clicking on the cross-country jump penalties will give you a breakdown of where the pair had problems.
4. Click on XC and you will see the detailed XC results for all riders
5. A search mechanism to find anything. For example if you want all WD you can search for that, or all rides by an individual such as Phillip Dutton. The search component is still being modified.
6. If it is an FEI competition, the competitor's flag will be displayed.
7. If there are teams, click on the team tab and team results are displayed.
