Fence-By-Fence: Walk the Inaugural #LRK3DE CCI4*-S

By USEA | Apr 23, 2021

The organizing team at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event decided to add a CCI4*-S to the competition in order to give up-and-coming horses and riders the chance to experience the atmosphere of the event and in future years the class will also provide more action for spectators. The inaugural year has drawn a strong field of competitors to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.

Derek di Grazia designed the CCI4*-S course to be 3,857 meters with an optimum time of 6 minutes and 46 seconds in comparison the CCI5*-L is 6,270 meters with an optimum time of 11 minutes. Both courses are run at 570 meters per minute.

Forty-four horses will leave the start box tomorrow beginning at 1:45 p.m. with Jessica Phoenix and Wabbit and Phoenix will also be the last to go at 3:51 p.m. on Pavarotti.

USEA CEO Rob Burk took a walk around the cross-country course as part of his volunteer role at the event and has your full fence-by-fence preview.
