Whether you plan on participating in the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) or the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program this year, make sure your name is on the team roster! All IEL and Collegiate teams should submit their team rosters to the USEA by Tuesday, February 15. Please send team rosters to the USEA Senior Director of Membership Services Jennifer Hardwick at Jennifer@useventing.com.

Intercollegiate Eventing Team Rosters

Who is eligible to be listed on the collegiate team roster? Any individual who is a current undergraduate student at a university or college that is an affiliate of the USEA.

The discounted collegiate membership is only offered to undergraduate students who are listed on their official team roster and the deadline to submit a roster is Tuesday, February 15! Please list every member on the school’s eventing team.

This policy is strictly related to receiving the USEA collegiate membership discount. Collegiate members whose names are submitted after February 15 can still be considered ‘collegiate members’ and have their names appear on the Intercollegiate national leaderboards and participate in team challenges and Championships. Please note that graduate students are not eligible to receive the collegiate membership discount therefore, they should not be listed on the roster.

The 2022 USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championships will take place on May 21-22 at Chattahoochee Hills H.T. in Fairburn, Georgia. There are two requirements for undergraduates to compete in the 2022 USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championships. First, the student must be registered as a USEA Collegiate Member and listed on the official team roster. Secondly, the school must be a current affiliate of the USEA.

Every school must renew its affiliate registration with the USEA for 2022. Click here to renew.

Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) Team Rosters

Who is eligible to be listed on the IEL team affiliate roster? Any USEA Junior member who is currently in the 7th through 12th grade. There is currently no option to select your IEL team affiliate on your USEA membership profile, the only way to be included in the IEL program is to have your name included on an IEL roster.

Team representatives should send their team rosters to the USEA Senior Director of Membership Services Jennifer Hardwick at Jennifer@useventing.com by Tuesday, February 15. Please list every member on your IEL team. New IEL members can be added throughout the year, and please send any team updates to Jennifer Hardwick. New IEL teams will also be able to register and submit rosters at any time during the year.

Please remember that every IEL team affiliate must renew with the USEA for 2022. Since this is only the second year of running IEL, the $75 affiliate fee will be waived for all teams in 2022. Click here to renew for IEL!

About the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League

In August 2020, the USEA Board of Governors approved the creation of the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) as an official program of the USEA. The mission of IEL is to bring together junior riders who are in the 7-12th grade and provide a supportive community through which students can continue to pursue their riding interests. A group of junior members in the 7th-12th grade who share a common bond (same barn, same school, same Pony Club, etc.) register with the USEA as an interscholastic team. About the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program

The USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program was established in 2014 to provide a framework within which eventing teams and individual competitors could flourish at universities and colleges across the country. The USEA offers a discount of $25 on annual USEA memberships for current students of universities and colleges registered as Affiliates with the USEA. Many events across the country now offer Intercollegiate Team Challenges where collegiate eventers can compete individually as well as on teams with their fellow students. In Intercollegiate Team Challenges, each rider’s score is multiplied by a coefficient appropriate for their level to account for differences in level difficulty, and then the individual scores are added together to determine the team score. Click here to learn more about the Intercollegiate Eventing Program.

The USEA would like to thank Bates Saddles, EQuine AMerica Magazine, FITS, Kerrits, RevitaVet, R&J Equine, USEF, World Equestrian Brands, and Saratoga Horseworks for sponsoring the Intercollegiate Eventing Program.
