In an attempt to create a clear picture for consistent scoring amongst judges, the following clarification has been made by the USEA Eventing Licensed Officials Committee regarding the 2022 USEF Novice Test B dressage test for eventing. This clarification is effective immediately.
Movement #3 on the 2022 USEF Novice Test B states:
B – F – A – K
WORKING TROT; OVER A TRANSITION TO MEDIUM WALK 4 TO 6 STEPS; PROCEED WORKING TROT
Proper judging, according to the DRESSAGE RULEBOOK, indicates that steps of walk should be counted as the front feet hitting the ground just as the rein back is judged, when the number of steps are noted in the criteria. Judging the quality of the transitions and the correctness and quality of the medium walk, are essential in determining the score
