By USEA | Jun 24, 2011

Edith Rameika and Sara Kozumplik’s Manolo Blahnik cashed in big today at the $10,000 J.C. Chester Intermediate Challenge at the Surefire Horse Trials in Purcellville, Virginia. Sara started the morning with the 15-year-old New Zealand Thoroughbred in a tie for ninth on a score of 35.2. A double clear show jumping moved them into the fifth position, and they continued their climb to the top with a cross-country round well inside the time. Meghan O’Donoghue and Pirate also made an impressive move up the leaderboard from 17th place to second to finish on a 38.4. Sarah Cousins riding Joule and Kelly Pugh riding Copycat Chloe both ended on the score of 38.8, but Sarah finished closer to the optimum time of 5:49 so was able to take home the yellow ribbon.
