By USEA | Jun 21, 2010

AS OFFICIAL VEHICLE OF THE USEF AND U.S. EVENTING TEAM, LAND ROVER SIGNS ON AS TITLE SPONSOR OF THE USEA AMERICAN EVENTING CHAMPIONSHIPS AT CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS

The United States Eventing Association and Chattahoochee Hills Eventing Team at Bouckaert Farm are proud to announce Land Rover as the Title Sponsor for the 2010 USEA American Eventing Championships, held Thursday, Sept. 9 - 12, 2010 in Fairburn, Ga.

"We are incredibly fortunate to secure Land Rover as the title sponsor for the American Eventing Championships," stated Carl Bouckaert, Landowner and Organizer, Chattahoochee Hills Eventing Team. "Having Land Rover on board definitely raises the bar for this prestigious event and we are grateful for the opportunity to welcome them to Chattahoochee Hills Eventing at Bouckaert Farm."

“Land Rover has a long standing relationship with the sport of eventing in the U.K.," said Finbar McFall, Vice President, Marketing, Land Rover North America. "Our sponsorship of the American Eventing Championships is an opportunity for us to continue our support of the U.S. Eventing Team, and at the same time showcase our vehicles in the right setting to a group of enthusiasts, who like Land Rover owners, have an affinity for outdoor activities."

Land Rover was recently announced as the official vehicle of the United States Equestrian Federation and the U.S. Eventing Team for 2010. On site at the AEC, Land Rover will offer a special ride-and-drive program allowing guests the opportunity to test drive Land Rover's current model year vehicles -- with a driving instructor -- on purpose-built off-road courses that highlight the vehicles’ extraordinary capabilities and demonstrate why Land Rover reigns in the upper echelon of on- and off-road performance.

"The USEA is honored to have Land Rover as title sponsor of our American Eventing Championships. The Land Rover brand is synonymous with quality and is very fitting for the high caliber of competition that will be held at the Chattahoochee Hills venue in September, " said Jo Whitehouse, CEO, USEA. “Land Rover has a long tradition of supporting the sport of eventing in Great Britain and we are delighted that they have chosen to align themselves with our event."

Now in its seventh year, the popular American Eventing Championships offers qualified USEA members of all ages and levels the chance to compete in the only national championships of its kind in the United States. Each September, hundreds of juniors, adult amateurs, and professionals travel from all across the nation to participate in this prestigious competition, vying for the chance to win a piece of $60,000 in prize money and $100,000 in fabulous prizes.

Competitors range from junior Beginner Novice riders to Preliminary adult amateurs and Olympians such as Leslie Law, Phillip Dutton, and Karen O’Connor. This year will be especially important for the High Performance riders in the sport, as the advanced division will serve as the final USEF Mandatory Outing before the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games beginning at the end of September.

After a successful tenure in Southern Pines, North Carolina and Wayne, Illinois, this is the first-of-three years that the Land Rover/USEA American Eventing Championships will be at the new world-class Georgia facility. Riders and spectators will enjoy the state-of-the-art stabling and amenities offered, as well as spectacular viewing areas for the entire show grounds.

Chattahoochee Hills Eventing is a relatively new equestrian facility on 8,000 lush acres located along the Chattahoochee River in the heart of South Atlanta in Fairburn, Georgia. Rising to the challenge of putting on a first class event, the Chattahoochee Hills team has been working non-stop since they were chosen by the USEA to host the AEC more than one year ago.
