In February 2023, the United States Eventing Association (USEA) announced a new pathway for the Future Event Horse (FEH) program. The Young Horse Show Series (YHS) has taken over the FEH program and will run classes under the YHS umbrella during the 2023 competition season. USEA members that are interested in gaining exposure for their young horses are encouraged to participate in YHS events this year.
The Young Horse Show Series is designed to provide sport horse breeders, as well as owners, trainers and riders of all disciplines, with an affordable way to introduce their young horses to the show environment. YHS events are also intended to create a sales environment that brings together numerous young horses in a single location where their talents can be displayed in front of a buying audience.
The USEA will continue to support the FEH program and YHS through sponsorship of the three YHS/FEH Regional Finals and the $1,000 USEA/YHS Eventer Recognition Program. Loch Moy Farm (East), Haras Hacienda (Central) and Twin Rivers Ranch (West) will now host regional finals this fall that will allow participants the opportunity to qualify for the Young Horse Show Series Final at Tryon International Equestrian Center on Nov. 7-11, 2023.
View the calendar of 2023 YHS events below, and keep in mind that the list is subject to change. New competitions can be added throughout the season, so members are encouraged to regularly check YoungHorseShow.com for the most current list of events.

About the Future Event Horse Program
The USEA introduced the Future Event Horse Program in 2007 in response to the popularity of the already established USEA Young Event Horse Program. Where the YEH program assesses 4- and 5-year-old prospective event horses based on their performance, the FEH program evaluated yearlings, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and 4-year-olds for their potential for the sport based on conformation and type. The FEH program will now be run by the Young Horse Show Series, under their umbrella.
