Shortly after the 2012 North American Junior/Young Rider Championships qualifying requirements were posted, an appeal was generated by Area IV Young Rider representative and coaches, as well as by Fox River Valley Pony Club Horse Trials organizers, to have the qualifying period for the NAJYRC extended to include the FRVPCHT CCI* as a qualifying event for the CH-J1* entry process. The requested extension has now been granted by the FEI, due in part to the support offered by other USEA Area representatives and Equine Canada’s Eventing Committee, which culminated in a formal request to FEI by the USEF. The new ending date for the qualifying period for the CH-J1* division of the 2012 North American Young Riders Championships is June 24th. This consideration was granted with respect for the relatively few qualifying opportunities available to Young Riders in Area IV and throughout the central portion of the country.
The FRVPCHT organizers and Area IV Young Rider committee are extremely grateful for this decision, and for all of the support received from USEA, USEF and Eventing Canada. This extension is for all horse/rider combinations wishing to compete in the Championships and for all National Federations. It is anticipated that this extension will attract Young Riders from surrounding areas including Canada to the event.
Entries are now open for the Fox River Valley Pony Club HT CCI* which will take place June 22-24 in Barrington Hills, Illinois. The closing date for entries is June 5, 2012.
