The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International to Feature Fall Family Fun

The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International Three-Day Event (FHI) will feature family fun when it returns to the Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area, October 17-20. Featuring the nation's best horses and riders competing in the U.S. Equestrian CCI4*-L and CCI3*-L Fall Eventing Championships and the USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships presented by Dubarry of Ireland, The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International will present live music, dog competitions, shopping, fantastic fall food, and multiple demonstrations.

Events headlining the list of special attractions during the event at Fair Hill include:

CASINO NIGHT
Saturday, October 19 (6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Sponsors' Tent)

Join FHI Saturday in the beautiful sponsor tent after cross-country for an evening filled with live table games, prizes, food stations, and a cash bar. Games will include blackjack, roulette, specialty poker, and craps. Casino Night will also hold a silent auction. Tickets are $50 each in advance and can be purchased here.

KIDS' CORNER
Saturday, October 19 (located inside the Main Gate next to Dog Agility)

Bring the little ones by Kids' Corner for crafts, The Scheeler Seed Corn Box, horsey crafts, face painting, and other fun activities including the Puddle Jumpers 4H Club who will be demonstrating how to properly groom ponies and the tools that are needed to get the job done! Other activities include:

  • Juggling Performer Andrew Scharff

CHARM CITY JUNCTION BAND
Saturday, October 19 (lunchtime)

From dance-inducing Old Time rhythms and foot-stomping Irish melodies to hard-driving Bluegrass, Baltimore-based acoustic roots quartet Charm City Junction creates a fresh soundscape that keeps listeners on the edge of their seats wondering where they'll go next.

CROSS-COUNTRY COURSE WALK
Friday, October 18 (4:00 p.m.)

Ever wondered what the cross-country fences look like up close and personal? How about what is running through the riders' minds as they approach the fence? Come find out! This year the course walk will be hosted by Cochranville, Pennsylvania upper level eventer Matt Brown. The course walk is to meet at the Start Box at no charge. The Friday evening course walk is open to Pony Clubbers, 4-H members, and all Fair Hill International volunteers.

DOG AGILITY
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 18, 19, 20

Want to see what Agility is all about, and see if your dog has what it takes to compete? Join The Academy of Dog Training from Newark, Delaware, in the Dog Arena for Agility demonstrations and free mini lessons for beginners and more experienced agility dogs alike. Demonstrations and lessons will take place throughout the day Friday through Sunday.

  • Sunday 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.: AKC Canine Good Citizen Titles - Open Testing

FRISBEE DOG COMPETITION
Saturday, October 19 (12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. across from Sponsors' Tent)

The Appalachian Air Canines and their humans facilitate Frisbee dog sports, education, and playtime opportunities. Watch these athletic dogs and their owners as they compete in various Frisbee competitions, from freestyle to distance games.

HANK'S SKYDOGS DISC AND TRICK SHOW
Sunday, October 20 (after Show Jumping)

Immediately after the CCI4*-L show jumping, there will be a special performance from Hank's Skydogs - spectators will be entertained by this disc and trick show showcasing some of the best canine athletes known to humans.

DOG COSTUME PARADE
Saturday, October 19 (12:00 noon)

To enter, simply gather outside the CCI Warm-Up Ring at 11:50 a.m. The contest will commence at 12:00 noon. Participants will parade in line around the ring led by Sparky the Fire Dog until the judges announce the winners. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times.

HORSEBACK ARCHERY
Saturday, October 19 (11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.)

United Liberty Horse Archers is a horse archery club located in South East Pennsylvania. Come learn more about the exciting sport of horseback archery.

HORSEBACK VAULTING
Presented by Muddy Creek Meadows Riding Stable
Saturday, October 19(11:30 a.m. & 3:30 p.m.)

Equestrian vaulting is most often described as dance and gymnastics on the back of a moving horse. Vaulters compete as individuals, pairs, and teams. Watch demonstrations from our vaulters and learn about this amazing sport.

POLO DEMONSTRATION
Saturday, October 19 (12:30 p.m.)

Watch polo players as they discuss and demonstrate the sport, tactics of the game, different swings techniques as well as polo culture and horsemanship.

FREEDOM HILLS THERAPEUTIC RIDING PROGRAM'S MILITARY DRILL TEAM
Saturday, October 19 (1:30 p.m.)

Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program's Military Drill Team has performed at the Maryland State Fair, The Maryland Million, Fair Hill CCI as well as other places. The drill team is made up of both Military Veterans as well as active Military Personnel. Since 1982 Freedom Hills TRP, a Premier Center with PATH Int, has served people who happen to have disabilities.

CHINCOTEAGUE PONY DRILL TEAM
Saturday, October 19(2:00 p.m.) & Sunday, October 20 (9:00 a.m.)

After seeing a drill team competition at the Kentucky Horse Park in 1998, coach Kendy Allen came up with the idea of having a Chincoteague Pony Drill Team-made up of all Chincoteague ponies, both veterans of the swim and descendants of Misty, the most famous Chincoteague pony of all. Then a 4-H leader, she asked some of the youth if they were interested in learning a drill on some of the Allen family Chincoteague ponies, and the rest is history.

DVCTA QUAD SQUAD
Thursday, October 17 (6:00 p.m.)

The Delaware Valley Combined Training Assoc is performing a Quadrille Exhibition at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, to kick off FHI's Welcome Party for competitors, sponsors, owners, grooms, vendors, and volunteers. This year's performance is called "Flower Power" and celebrates the 50th anniversary of Woodstock.

About Fair Hill International

In October 2020, the event continues its rapid elevation in status as the Maryland Five-Star at Fair Hill (CCI5*), to be held at the newly constructed Special Event Zone adjacent to the Fairgrounds. The prestigious CCI5*-L designation is the pinnacle of the sport of eventing and will be only the second such event in the U.S. and seventh worldwide with this elite classification.

  • Saturday, October 19 - $20
  • Sunday, October 20 - $20

Children under 12 are admitted free of charge, as are 4-H (with ID), Pony Club members (with pin), and military members and their dependents (with ID). Juniors (12-17) and Seniors 65 years and older - just $5 per person on Friday and $15 per person Saturday and Sunday.
