Registration for the 2023 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention is now open! Join the USEA in St. Louis, Missouri, this Dec. 7-10 for a weekend of mingling with fellow enthusiastic eventers to partake in discussions about the future of the sport. This year’s event will include a keynote address by Dr. Temple Grandin, a world-renowned scientist and author, a celebration of champions at the Annual Awards Dinner, and more! The city of St. Louis also has so many opportunities to sight-see and explore.
Area IV will kick-off the celebrations by welcoming members to their city on Friday, Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. during their Welcome Reception. Get a taste of St. Louis by sampling local delicacies and learn about must-see attractions directly from the source.
While the 2023 Convention may be your primary goal for the trip, don’t forget to make time to explore the local area. St. Louis may be best known for its Gateway Arch. This 630-foot-tall monument was completed in 1965 to commemorate Thomas Jefferson’s vision of a transcontinental United States. Visitors can take a Tram Ride to the Top to learn about the history of the structure and experience the views from the top of the tallest monument in the U.S.
Voted one of USA Today’s 10 Best Immersive Art Experiences, the City Museum is a great attraction for visitors of all ages. Bring the whole family to enjoy this weirdly wonderful playground, whose main feature is a 10-story slide! Afterwards, take some time to unwind in nature at Forest Park. The park boasts several free museums, the St. Louis Zoo, biking and jogging paths, a skating rink and more! If food and drink is more your style, consider touring the original Anheuser-Busch Brewery or break bread with your travel companions at one of St. Louis’ many exciting restaurants.
Registration for the convention is open now, so don’t wait to secure tickets! The most cost-effective registration type is a full week pass, which gives members access to all open meetings on Thursday through Sunday and includes one ticket to the USEA Annual Meeting of Members Luncheon. Members are encouraged to take advantage of early bird pricing, which is available now through Dec. 5, to get the best deal. Full members can attend all four-days of Convention for the early bird rate of just $275, while Junior and Collegiate Members can attend for only $150. On-site registration will increase by $15, so a full week pass will be $290 for full members and $175 for Junior and Collegiate members after Dec. 5.
Several additional event passes are available for purchase as well. Come celebrate the leaderboard champions at all levels of the sport, from Beginner Novice through Advanced, at the Awards Dinner on Friday evening. Tickets to the Awards Dinner can be purchased for one person for $105, a table of 8 people for $840 or a table of 10 people for $1,050.
Do you have a passion for animal welfare and consider yourself to be an out-of-the-box thinker? Attend the Annual Meeting of Members Luncheon on Saturday, Dec. 9 to hear Dr. Temple Grandin’s keynote address. Learn how Dr. Grandin pioneered the design of livestock handling facilities with modern methods that improved animal welfare and productivity, while also becoming a prominent author and speaker on both autism and animal behavior. One ticket to the luncheon is included with each full registration, but additional tickets can be purchased for $65 per ticket.
To learn more about what it takes to organize an event, attend the Show Jumping Seminar led by Chris Barnard and Marc Donovan on Thursday, Dec. 7. Registration for the seminar is included in all full week passes, or interested parties can purchase a single-day pass for Thursday at $150 to attend.
If you haven’t booked your accommodations yet, save money by reserving a room through the USEA hotel room block. The USEA has set up a special discounted room rate that will expire on Tuesday, Nov. 14. While making travel plans, don’t forget to check out the USEA Member Rewards Program for other potential savings as well.
