United States Eventing Association Partners with Brooke USA To Help Working Equines Across the Globe

By Brooke USA - Press Release | Oct 02, 2020

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) has come forward to support Brooke USA. The announcement was made by the USEA’s President, Max Corcoran. The USEA’s mission is to advance the sport of eventing through the education of riders, trainers, officials, and organizers, with the health and well-being of the horse of paramount importance. Brooke USA is dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys, and mules and the people they serve in the developing world.

Most recently, and in view of the challenges faced by equine nonprofits, the USEA made the decision to contribute to a noble cause and the partnership with Brooke USA was confirmed. At present, 100 million working horses, donkeys, and mules support the livelihood of 600 million of the poorest people on earth.

The partnership between USEA and Brooke USA includes public relations and marketing collaboratives to advance both missions and center around the virtual premiere of Hope’s Legacy, a movie about determination, courage, and love, all with equestrian undertones and showcasing the unique relationship between a rider and her horse. The movie premiere hosted on the Equus Film Channel’s virtual platform serves as a fundraiser for Brooke USA and kicks-off The Power of ONE, a one-year campaign to raise $1 million for the charity, recognizing that one donation can change the life of an equine, a person or a community. Movie tickets, $25 and $150, are available to purchase at www.BrookeUSA.org/films-for-a-cause.

“When Jim Wolf from Wolf Sports Group and a member of the board of directors of Brooke USA contacted us at the USEA to determine our interest in supporting their premiere of Hope’s Legacy, an eventing movie, we had to jump in and help. It just makes sense that during these difficult times when equine organizations all clamor for funds, we work together to cross-promote our work,” said Corcoran. Emily Dulin, CEO of Brooke USA, noted that “Hope’s Legacy gives us the right conduit of appeal to the USEA. We are very excited with the partnership and hope that we will work together year-round.”

Hope’s Legacy deals with Lizzie’s strong emotions after the death of her grandmother, her obligations to the farm and her horses, and an impending three-day eventing competition. With her upcoming marriage to James threatened and challenged by a beautiful girl from James's past, Lizzie must learn to stand on her own two feet but with Legacy by her side she is sure to do just that.

Hope’s Legacy premieres on Thursday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. ET on a sub-channel of the Equus Film Channel, which also provides one-day exclusive access to additional Brooke USA content. Starting at 4:00 p.m. ET on Thursday through Friday, October 16 at 11:59 p.m. ET, movie buyers will enjoy documentaries, short films, and an interview with Maddox and Brooke USA Ambassador and Olympic three-day eventer Boyd Martin.

To purchase tickets, visit www.BrookeUSA.org/films-for-a-cause. A VIP ticket at $150 includes viewing access for one household and home delivery of an exclusive Caroline’s Cakes (one of Oprah’s “Favorite Things”). A General ticket at $25 includes viewing access for one household.

In addition to the USEA, the premiere is marked by the presence of other corporate sponsors and partners, including Valley Bank, EnviroEquine, and Caroline’s Cakes.
